The Boeuf Cochon does not pretend to be what it isn't. While you can order other entrees beside steak, it's clear that isn't a priority. This is a steak-house, in every sense of the word, from the decor to the tight, low-cut, bosom-enhancing black dresses worn by the hostesses who escort you from the entry to your table, to the waiters who wheel a trolley of various transparently wrapped steaks from which you are encouraged to select. The evening we were there, it seemed there were some conflicts between the manager and some of the staff. Smiles were not much in evidence. The mean was satisfactory, although two weeks since eating it when I write this review, I can't remember anything memorab...
There were several mistakes with our meals. My steak was overcooked and my partner's was undercooked so we think that they were plated incorrectly before the sauces and toppers were added. We ended up swapping steaks. Our potatoes were also served incorrectly, with butter instead of the sour cream we'd ordered. A couple of other minor issues for which our server was apologetic but it made what should have been a nice meal pretty ordinary.
The second time we have been. Both visits were disappointing regarding the steak quality. The meat was not tender at all. The atmosphere as previously mentioned by another review, the personnel was a festival a tattoos, overexposed cleavage (not necessary for this type of restaurant) and the manager speaking very loudly to the personnel upon our arrival and departure. Needs to be a bit more classy.
Went for dinner. It was recommended at the hotel and was within walking distance. The restaurant was noisy and that detracted from what, by the prices being charged, should have been a high-end facility. The service was excellent and the quality of the food was only average. We alll ordered the filet and we are not sure that we got the cut of meat that we had ordered.
Bad experience: Cold meals, not in accordance with the menu descriptions and tasteless frozen vegetables on a $55 plate. The service was plagued by an obvious lack of staff. Difficult to order a second drink, no cuttelery, salt and pepper absent and impossible to get a glass of water. The manager would have a good career selling used cars.
