"We spent our third vacation in Prades and we are happy to say: yes, the beauty is in simplicity. Warm welcome, good food and relaxing view (pretending not to hear the street noise) on the tiny lake with geese and canards. Well worth to go there. As for almost all restaurants in France be sure to check the opening hours before you go there (see my photos for menu and opening hours valid in September 2012)."

We stopped here for lunch in mid October. It was a sunny day and we sat outside by the lake. Apart from our fellow diners we were joined by a variety of birds including ducks and geese. An ideal distraction for those with small children. We were given a friendly welcome in English and throughout the meal service was excellent. Considering this is a small informal restaurant there was a good choice of both meat and fish dishes. The Gambas were excellent and are highly recommended. All main courses were accompanied by a generous salad and home made chips (fries). We never made it to the desserts but again the choice looked good. Logistics. Bank cards are accepted. This is not an easy restauran...

I was sadly disappointed perhaps my expectation was too high. I didn’t feel welcomed it was a sunny but windy day so we thought we’d eat inside but we were offered the darkest spot encumbered by stacks of chairs and baby chairs all crammed in so we ate outside. Other people who arrived after us were given nicer seating. I had Gambas but they had the intestinal tract still in them so I spent a large amount of time cleaning this out. Before we given free olives and mustard mayonnaise and bread. The olives tasted and looked like the cheapest you could buy and the mayonnaise and salad were overwhelmed with mustard the bread was basic. I’d rather have nothing than cheap unpleasant stuff. The praw...

The surroundings are basic but the welcome friendly and attentive. Seating inside and out by the lake. Lots of parking. Menu is on a board and there is a daily special. A lot of grills and prawns etc. Food comes with a crisp, dressed salad and homemade Catalan garlic mayonnaise. Simple food but fresh, homemade, tasty and well priced. 4 of us eat last night a main meat course and we had a litre of rose between us and all had coffee – 18.85 euros a head. Families very welcome. Noise level is quite high not ideal for a romantic dinner or anyone with a hearing aid but otherwise good, simple no frills but recommended.

This a small diner (in a prefab building) beside the small fishing lake and camp site in Prades. It serves meat and fish cooked in the Catalan style directly on the grill/barbecue. All dishes are served with home-made fries, house salad and very garlicky mustard mayo. It is neither expensive nor fancy but good simple food which we enjoyed. The setting is more attractive and much busier in summer but even when we went (on a very cold February day) the food was good and the service helpful.
