"Excellent food in small friendly restaurent on the riverside. A lucky find as our first choices were all closed.. Fate! I had the 24E menu, a nice salad and then three meats couscous, a fine desert and some nice mint tea, all washed down with some first class house wine. All good and pretty more importantly pretty authentic. A well deserved max rating. If I am ever back this way, this is a definite stop! I highly recommend it."

I wanted to try something new in Macon and enjoy the beautiful weather by being on the river, so based on the positive reviews here for le Bouchacourt, I called and booked a table for lunch. I'm so glad I did! I'm not sure that I would have chosen it vs the other half dozen restaurants on the waterfront if I had just wandered by, as it seems more discreet from the outside than the others. However, the owner is friendly and welcoming (by French standards) and professional. The food was fresh and delicious. I had a chicken liver salad to start, which was heavy on the liver and light on the salad and could have almost been a main course it was so filling! When I first saw it, I was dismayed by...

I enjoyed a delicious lunch here on Saturday July 2. It goes without saying that the location, on the left bank of the Saone, is outstanding, near the St. Laurent bridge looking across at Macon.I've always found that an owner who puts their name on the door is always fiercely proud of their cuisine. and such is the case here. Mme Nicole Robin offered a warm, solicitous welcome to her restaurant. The menu at 19.50E offered an old favourite of mine - calf's liver, which one seldom sees. The food here is not "bought in" - its all made on the premises. A wonderful fish terrine, full of flavour, was beautifully presented, then followed by the liver. It was so tender, and topped by chanterelle mus...

We came came for a dinner as a group of 12 people. I booked our dinner and the menu beforehand. The restaurant is very small but very cosy, with the view to river Saone in the window. It is held by proprietress Ms. Nicole, who is in charge of everything. We very very much impressed by the quality of food and friendly atmosphere. Moreover the service was surprisingly fast as there is only 2 people, who do all the things. The food is very tasty and homely. Fish and potato gratin were awesome. We also ordered de grenouille (frog legs) and they were perfect. So, I highly recommend this restaurant for having a dinner.
