"We visit every year at the same time. This is our fifth year in succession and the restaurant used to be one of the highlights of our stay. This year the food was really disappointing and the service lack lustre. I don’t know if the restaurant has changed hands or if there are new staff from chef to waiting staff but the standards have very sadly dropped. Such a shame and no doubt a bad reflection on the hotel at Domaine Du Ferret which is otherwise excellent ."

We decided to eat in this restaurant during a three day stay at the Domaine du Ferret. I was encouraged by good reviews on TripAdvisor. It may be that the regular chef was off that night but we were terribly disappointed by our (rather expensive) meal. On the plus side, we had an extremely nice waiter who recommended a good bottle of wine for us. The coffee at the end of the meal was also excellent. The bits inbetween, however, were awful. We got the feeling that the chef was just trying too hard to be fancy. My starter consisted of smoked salmon submerged in a strange beetroot soup actually quite unpleasant. My main course, which should have been a simple piece of fish served with carrots and potatoes, was overpowered by a sharp lemon foam. I couldn't finish it. We took the decision not to eat here again which was a shame as the location is superb.

The Domaine du Ferret has been open since June 2015. The restaurant is run by the same people who own the well known Pinasse restaurant in Cap Ferret. We have eaten there twice since our arrivel and have not been disappointed either time. The many is quite simple, but what makes it special for us is the daily menus. The chef uses these to give interesting mixtures of tastes and textures, offering dishes that go beyond the usual food found in the region. Reasonably priced, these dishes are simple marvelous. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The only potentially disappointing note, that the owners mention themselves, is the decor a bit canteen of the building. But I 'm sure that they will find ways of making it more hospitable.

Very disappointing experience....despite great views form the restaurant terrace and attentive service... OVERRATED. Definitely does not deserve to be highly rated due to the quality of the food. Weird bad) recipes. Not tasty at all an this is not the question of my individual taste). And OVERPRICED. For the prices you pay you are expecting much better quality of food. Wine selection is not the best neither. And also overpriced in comparison with other restaurants in the area., Now I am not surprised why the restaurant was empty..
