Tucked away in the quaint and picturesque village of Saussignac, this charming café restaurant is the perfect spot for a relaxing evening and a glass of wine - or three! Whether you choose to sit inside in the meticulously refurbished barn, walls adorned with the artworks of the chef (clearly a man of many talents,)! or outside in the garden, the ambience of the place draws you in immediately. Proprietors Mike and Lee make you feel immediately welcome, and do a marvellous job of making all their guests relax and get to know each other. The menu offers simple but flavoursome dishes which showcase local produce, and the food is ideally washed down with one of the excellent and reasonably price...
Best time ever! Mike and Lee really organise the best events! We were lucky enough to go to a few of their amazing events this summer including burger night, singing and dancing BBQ night, Ottolenghi tasting menu night, just to mention a few. Mike and Lee always look after us so well! Nothing is too much for them, and always full of smiles. Just love them! They have transformed our Saussignac! We are so lucky to have them as neighbours! Le 1500 also looked after my family and friends during a 4 night stay in their gorgeous rooms! Nothing is ever too much for them! Thank you!
My wife and I loved our night at the 1500 coffee shop in Saussignac. already the frame is totally out of the ordinary between barn and attic. We don't expect it! the dinner was just excellent, the extra wine, the service super well and the paintings exhibited by this sublime English painter "Mike Rumsby". Thank you mike and lee for this moment. It's like time stopped for a few moments. That makes us feel good. We hope to come back another day when we are passing through your beautiful region.
I had the pleasure to eat with friends at Le Café 1500 last night. It was their last specialty meal of the year, an Ottolenghi dinner. Not only was the nine course delicious and well presented but the ambience and the care that the whole team took to make it a delightful evening was obvious. I was lucky enough to spend four days at the beautiful le 1500. Mike and lee are the perfect hosts . Nothing was too much trouble, amazing food, coupled with beautiful rooms . Every corner has been artfully curated to perfection, which makes you feel like a home from home. Thankyou le 1500 it’s been a pleasure and I will be back
Total jewel of a find, the meal was spectacular in taste, beautiful in design and the setting all authentic elegance. I don’t think I will be able to have gazpacho without vodka now.. Mike’s art adds extraordinary colour and depth to the atmosphere, genuinely beautiful. I totally fell in love!
