Le Cafe De La Cale

We arrived yesterday in Benodet to glorious weather. Then we had an evening of stormy weather which extended into sunday. Not knowing what to do we took a drive. And eventually found ourselves on the other side of the river from Benodet. Cafe de la Cale suited us perfectly, small, rustic, friendly staff. Beautiful views over the river. Oysters Planche Nordic delightful complimented by a smooth Muscadet. Definitely worth a visit. We hope to visit again before we leave France.

We went in the evening. Menu is basically platters and desserts. We had the Nordic platter and the Spanish meats platter. Fantastic quality and quantity for around 15 Euros each. Beautiful setting on the harbour. Super casual with mainly outdoor seating. There was some basic seating inside but music quite loud inside. This place is doing something a bit different and doing it really well. I wish we had the time to go again.

We had a delicious lunch with friends with a lovely view over the port. Lots of different types of salads and also platters to choose from. We opted for a Ceasar, Italian and Goats Cheese with a chilled glass of Chablis. The salads were really tasty with fresh ingredients. Waitresses were warm and welcoming.

Great atmosphere brought us over to this awesome place… lively, good music, amazing food and beer. Four platters later, cheese, charcuterie, seafood and salad . Amazing, will return

Amazing lunch. Right on the waters edge beautiful view Muscadet chilled to perfection Best Caesar salad I have ever eaten!! Highly recommend it
