We had a fabulous meal here with our family! The server spoke great English which was so helpful. He was caring and kind. I read some other reviews that were not positive and this is a shame, because we can honestly say that our family was MORE than satisfied with our experience! The menu had so many lovely options and was not overpriced in our opinion... we were served a magnificent and tasty meal made with the freshest of everything and presented in such a lovely setting. We would highly recommend this restaurant to you!
The helpful people at the Chateau de Bourron made us reservations at the Cafe for 7 pm. We got there about 6:50 and they told us that the kitchen doesn’t open until 7:15. We had wine at a table outside until we were seated much later. Luckily the weather was pleasant. This was possibly the best meal we ate during our most recent trip in France, among the many wonderful places we ate. The food was amazing, including a champignon and chèvre foam amuse bouche, and a salmon ceviche.
We lunched there today (my birthday treat). The menu came with suggestions of wines for each dish (starter and main). Priding myself on being a bit of a wine buff myself, I was impressed by the suggestions, whether the crisp and fruity white we had with our marinated salmon starter, or the Château l'Hospitalet with my carré d'agneau. I rounded things off with a very nice bas Armagnac. We were delighted with the experience and will most certainly return.
