We had eaten here a few years ago and had a decent lunch. However this evening meal was probably the worst dining experience I’ve had in France for very many years. Service was average but the Coq au Vin in particular was simply awful, and staff should have been embarrassed to serve it. A dry mix of blackened meat (which was apparently chicken, perhaps dyed with red wine on top of starchy spaghetti and no actual sauce to speak of. Prison food?! Or perhaps a retro tribute to school dinners of the 1970s. I have now read several similar reviews from this summer so this was not a ‘one off’. The pork was a bit better, but not much. The kids’ burgers, ice creams and formulaic desserts were ok, but...
En la encantadora población de Chinon,además de caracterizarse por sus excelentes vinos,también se puede comer bien.En este restaurante que se encuentra en la plaza mayor,cerca del ascensor que lleva al centro,se puede degustar perfectamente la cocina de la zona centro,además de la cocina más internacional. La población es sencillamente preciosa,con la opción de navegar por el Loira por un precio asequible.También el castillo del mismo nombre corona la ciudad y es digno de visitar.Otra opción es darte una vuelta en un carro a caballo,muy relajante y tranquilo.
decided to stop here to take a drink after the visit, because it is located at the bottom of the castle. When the server came to take our order it was abrupt and not very pleasant, however we were served quickly. We then decided to order another drink tour, so we reported another waitress who turned out to be just as rude or more impolite than the first server. a pity that the staff of this institution lack social skills because it is very well located.
We had dinner tonight at 15 o'clock. The reception and service were perfect, fast and efficient. homemade dishes are clearly a nice attractive argument. in my humble opinion, the amount of the cute net may appear just for great appetites. (4 pieces could match a child's plate.)I would have liked personally that I was asked to cook my steak in my burger and have a little more caramel with the brioche way lost bread.

Extremely long waits. It took 50 minutes between getting the starters and getting the main dishes. These were a beef tartar (served cold, yet 50 minutes… with some warm-ish fries and a veal stew with rice (advertised as sautéed veal! with an extremely watery gravy. Crème brûlée was OK. Service mediocre (but a very nice short haired lady . Also, the place was full of large flies!
Well-placed brewery at the bottom of the climb for the fortress. restaurant with terrace. very good lunch (cod, cute net, foie gras) but no charm gets out of this restaurant. any service: the waiter takes the order and basta (no exchange, smile, no advice) damage because the kitchen was good
Typically a passing restaurant without more. food is good and service is good. but far from being the warmest and charming restaurant. It is better to eat in one of the less tourist restaurants in the street. if you are in a hurry it is the ideal restaurant because fast service.
bad reception, unpleasant manager. hotel (exaggerated name, barely a hostel) vieillot, small and noisy rooms, very mediocre breakfast (don't dare ask for a cappuccino: only available latte!) restaurant less than mediocre: on the square there are many other possibilities.

at 21hoo we can't take the menu anymore. The cod was fade the ratatouille was full of water, no taste. We were wondering where the lemon jammed in the menu. mediocre dish and no taste. We're not coming back.
