We were interested in trying Le Cantou as it as it is described as a country manor house in the middle of the Toulouse Airport and Airbus complex. The write up could not be more descriptive as you drive into the parking area and are swallowed up by a beautiful green garden with a large ancient country manor home. The location is beautiful and other than the occasional airplane landing nearby, the ambiance was wonderful.The staff was very attentive and were able to communicate with us in both English and French and they actually tried to help improve our French when we spoke with them.The meal started with a very nice amuse bouchée, although my photo did not workout well. I had previously eaten here and the food was good.Last time, in June I was more than disappointed. There just was no flavour in any of the dishes that the three of us ate, which was upsetting as one of the guests is very used to very fine dining.That said the wine list and was extensive!We ate in the gardens which are beautiful and the setting itself is worthy of a "star". This is especially true if you also enjoy looking at aircraft at 200 feet above you as they land!The staff are well trained and polite.Perhaps we just caught the chef on a bad day!
I went with my sister and Brother in law who have been visiting the place quite frequently. I didnt really have to choose my dishes but whatever i had (and I had a lot) was great... this was my first taste of French food and based on the first sample i'd be back for more. The service was excellent and the time and patience they took to select wine of my choice is appreciated... i dont know the names of dishes so cant help u there but I believe it was a set menu... so ask for it and they'll help u to choose perfect food for you.
Tonight I had one of the best meals of the year. Found a restaurant near the hotel that is a old farmhouse outside of Toulouse, France. They have an excellent wine selection including the Domaine Alquier Eugenie Favgeres a wonderfull full bodied red. First course grilled scallops, bush with peppers, fried onions. Main course roast rack of lamb, fried chickpea dumplings, candied peppers, mint sauce. Desert hazelnut biscuit, light praline cream, chocolate mousse, caramel and salted butter ice cream.

Visited this restaurant with my office colleagues for an official dinner. Its housed inside a big antique kind of a house with a huge garden in the front. I tried quite a few French dishes which I really liked. We were a group of 20 odd people and we got this one huge table on the first floor. The sorbet at the end was really amazing. Good place to have a meal with your friends and colleagues.
This restaurant is sure bet when looking for great dining. Top quality food and a large wine cellar. Dish presentation is superb and the staff is very friendly, most of them speak english. I always wonder whybthis restaurant does not have at least one Michelin star, they definetively deserve it.
Le Cantou is an excellent choice for a gourmet business lunch around the airport in blagnac. The food is really good and the service is impeccable. Do try the foie gras for starters, very good. The wine list is impressive, with also many high quality local wines. Strongly recommended.
The 1st surprise is arriving to a beautiful garden and finding an exclusive yet cosy restaurant. The food looked superb and the tastes were quite creative, but the cassoulet was very average. The service was top of the top. On the whole a very refined but pleasant restaurant
