You would probably walk past this place on your way too and from the station without giving it a second look but it really is worth going in. Another 'typical' French restaurant where the Menu Du Jour is the thing to order - just let the food keep coming. Its like being in someones house, and the food/menu is whatever is being cooked that day - no vast choices, no options for adding chips or the sauce on the side etc but what you do get is beautifully cooked fresh high quality grub. I say no frills and I mean it. There is usually a starter of soup which is placed in a saucepan on the table with some bowls and spoons. Help yourself. Its usually a thin veg soup but probably made with stock created from the bones of whatever is being cooked that day. Plenty of bread is served plus water and of course wine. The starter is usually a salad or some cooked meats with cornichon or perhaps a pate. Main course is often something like choucroute (various meats served with sauerkraut and potatoes) or on one occasion we had steak with chips. Desserts on my last visit were chocolate mousse or creme brulee. Again, you get what you are given to some extent. Service is lovely and homely. It felt like my nan was feeding me! Please dont expect English to be spoken - and the same goes for any of the restaurants here. Definitely recommended. No frills, no fuss and you get what you are given but you will go home full on proper home cooked grub.
