"Good choice for French food. Had foie gras and salad and the kids enjoyed their meals. Friendly service. Maybe slightly overpriced overall but a great experience."

We consider ourselves fortunate that the local agents for our rental home made reservations for us. The travails of driving across country to our home for the coming week was not without difficulties. All was well until we arrived at the village and then everything went pear shaped! We finally cracked the code and gained entry to our temporary abode and took wine. When it was dinner time we cruised down the road to this restaurant and were unfashionably early(7.30pm) As soon as we were seated the place filled up....... Why were they waiting? The food was good; starters of coquille on a bed of braised leeks for two then fish and risotto for Grannie while I had the veal filet with pear- sublime!...

.. We had the good fortune of dining twice at Le Chambellan, while we stayed in Coux for 3 weeks! Both evenings, one inside and one outside, were wonderful experiences. The owners and wait staff were charming, courteous and very professional. We loved everything we ordered both evenings and found their presentations very nice. The four tast types of creme brulee were very creative and delicious! The second evening, outside, we took our friends and we had a most beautiful young lady as our server. She was even more charming then the establishment! I recommend theis restaurant to anyone in the Dordogne area! Judi Dunn, Tallahassee, Florida

We were staying locally for two weeks and read the review that suggested vegetarian option was on the menu. Our son is vegetarian he had the option of a tomato based starter but there was absolutely no vegetarian. Main OptionWhen we asked for vegetarian we were offered vegetables .. Which was not ideal.. We asked a special request for an omelette and were denied. Now we do know French restaurants are not exceptionally vegetarian friendly but any decent chef surely can cook an omelette. We left having had a drink but didn't rate the service offered

Very helpful and friendly staff, wait to advise. The food is locally sourced and good value. A pleasant setting inside, or out on the terrasse, nice local wine really friendly. A lovely way to spend a lunchtime or an evening.
