Had not been to Flayosc for a few years now and could not find a restaurant open on Monday - great news, Le Cigalon was open. Le Cigalon changed owners about 2 years ago and have a Michelin "assiette" - which was a promising beginning.The choice of dishes is limited (good sign of quality food) and the offering was quite varied. The owner explained the menu changes regularly and they like to use small local producers for example, the cheese comes from Bertin in Taradeau, wines - we tried an interesting "vin bio" from Cotignac. There was a small menu choice but everything we had was delicious. All local fresh ingredients including courgette flowers, broad beans and artichokes in the salad starter. The main course of rabbit breast wrapped in jambon sec and stewed rabbit shoulder in a very tasty sauce was unusual and delicious. Both desserts we had were delicious and beautifully presented. Very good value at €31 for three courses. Only suggestion would be for some gentle background music and maybe some better pictures on the walls. It was a little quiet as the restaurant was not full. As guided by Tripadvisor I got here on a Thursday evening. Charmingly welcomed, served as we were long-time-no-see friends, starter from the house and a view on the menu ... Meat/fish lovers will feel at home instantly. As vegetarian I had a request for flexibility from the chef. Chef at the table and a wonderful mix from here and the on the menu he suggested to prepare a double special menu for 2 vegetarians ... A delight on the tongue and for the eyes ... Great selection of wines (local!) .. With the smooth service, the joy of food and drinks we had a special evening in Flyosc. A place to make a detour!

Nice restaurant, good balance price/quality. Not a lot of choice on the menu, but all the dishes tasted great. Especially the coquilles St Jaqueline. The dessert is not to be missed The Chef came to the table to discuss the menu and the wine choice together with his wife. All in all we had a lovely evening and will definitely go back. Stylish place just down from the village centre, with a capable and friendly husband and wife team in charge. Not expensive for the food quality, and a good range of local wines to accompany.
