In that time the café has changed ownership more often than I can remember, but it has always retained its charm as a local meeting place, eating place, newspaper reading place, outside coffee...place. The current owners and staff are super. They are friendly and proficient. My pet peeve at American eating establishments is the incessant requirement of the wait staff to interrupt your meal to ask how you are doing, usually in the middle of chewing a mouthful. If things are not going well I will let you know, thank you very much. You will never get that at Le Commerce, you will never feel that you are being rushed out the door....

the cafe brasserie le commerce is a classic French bar in the center of montélimar. Although the interieur is attractive, the thing is to do here, sitting on one of the exterior and simply enjoying the atmosphere and enjoying in a bit of people. the service was excellent as our beer, and we believe that this is one of the best places for a beer in montelimar.
terrible indifferent service. water ok. koks ok. they don't want to serve us or have any conversation or any carefree. we would have liked to have eaten something, but the lady has never returned so that we have the bill at the bar.

we came for a drink in the late afternoon and we enjoyed our waitress was really friendly and she offered a typical charcuterie from local craftsmen. they have a daily lunch called “plat du jour” quite good price quality
This is the best lunch place, very central in Montelimar, typically French ambiance, wonderful people and superb food for the price.
eating was not so delicious, average I would say. dogs are allowed and have seats in the open with very small tables.
