If you are looking for fresh ingredients and home made style cooking, this is the place to go! We had a group lunch and realized two things: first the rather old-fashioned interior of this restaurant is not at all indicative of it's quality and secondly, it was packed with luncheon guests! No wonder, the food was really excellent and not overly fancy (sometimes you can overdo the ingenuity and lose the appeal). And without extras we walked out with having eaten for 13Euros. That was for the main course and the dessert. I chose the fish which came with perfectly cooked linguini and Provincial tomato and for dessert I had their apple crumble. One of the best I have eaten even when I make it myself! Bravo to the Conti staff who were friendly and very efficient.

Lateish arrival, tired, and had a rubbish dinner at pretentious, can't cook, Henri IV last year so decided to stay in with the Hotel's restaurant. Same building but outside entrance on a different street so different address. A large, spacious, faded old room in need of a lick of paint accompanied by good, friendly service and proper, old-fashioned French cooking. Nothing too avant garde but what came out was properly fait maison and cooked perfectly. Decent bottle of localish wine at a reasonable price too.Exactly what we weary travellers needed and we will return.

If you are in Pau you could do worse than visiting this restaurant . The food is excellent - the set menu lunch is excellent value and quality . The ambience is very enjoyable a light airy room with tasteful decor . The service is outstanding - very professional but with the right mix of humour and extra information for a relaxing and enjoyable experience . The Maitre 'D is wonderful as are all the waiting staff . A very good choice of wines , we had an excellent local dry white and a red from the Landes . We will be back soon .

Starter or ris de veau was clearly microwaved from frozen the addition of girolles which are now seasonal was pathetic, slimy preheated mush. Menu is dull, passion to make great local produce shine is close to zero

Modern Hotel and good Regional food. Excellent service with waiters paying attention to their customers. Quality of food is great. Price reasonable I have been there several time and will be back.
