On a lovely evening, this patio is a wonderful spot to spend time. The view of the church with a stained glass window in the front and the sunset behind it is stunning. We tried the crunchy shrimp appetizer, which was delicious. For our main dishes, we ordered the grilled chicken breast salad and another chicken dish with olives (I can't remember the name). Both dishes were very tasty and I would recommend them. The only downside was that it took a while for the bill to be brought to us after we were done eating and had declined dessert or coffee.
We began with a 5 a 7 on the terrace and moved inside for our meal. From the entrées to the main course plates, everything was absolutely delish! The tartares, the savoury bbq ribs, bavette, the salmon, the incredible desserts (only to name a few) were out of this world with taste! The evening transforms into a very crowded bar with dance floor highlighted by rythmic playlists to suit anyone's music taste. I highly recommend!
It was sunday evening. Alone for a diner. I had a drink that was ok. As an Aperol, it should have been a bit more bitter. Service was good. The home beer (IPA) was really good. For diner I had the tartare duo of salmon and tuna. Small portion and not really tasty. Could have been more seasoning. Presentation was really good. I must say that for once there was enough “croutons”. For the price, it could have been better.
The waitress was a bit aloof at first, but the service overall was excellent. She became friendlier once we left a tip. The fish and chips were delicious, with thick black cod and crispy julienne fries, accompanied by a great tartar sauce. The dessert was fancy and very tasty. The espresso was of good quality. My wife had a pleasant meal at Le Crapaud (toad), a bar-cum-restaurant on one of the main downtown streets in Alma. We both had the light home-brewed Crapaud beer with a Crapaud burger, which consisted of finely sliced roast beef rather than patty. For dessert we shared a warm apple bundt cake. The service was pleasant throughout.
The patio at this restaurant is fantastic, and the location is very convenient. The wine selection is also quite good. However, the food was disappointing. The fish and chips were greasy and overpriced. I will not be returning to this establishment. Based on our experience with the food, I cannot recommend it.
We enjoyed our burgers but found that the staff were a little inattentive. Unlike most other places we went to in the Saguenay, the staff were not well-equipped to handle English speakers. We were able to communicate in French well enough to order but we felt a bit ignored the rest of the time.
