We have booked this restaurant when visited my partners French mum for her birthday. She lives in the area, and we wanted to give her a nice surprise, so we booked it to go there for lunch along with some of our friends. The restaurant is on the riverside, it is very pretty, just a stone throw from the Arthur Rimbaud museum. It is in a quirky old building, after climbing some steps you arrive to a small but perfectly arranged and well decored room with great views to the river. there are only about 6 smaller tables, and the diners there all seemed to be there because they new the place not because they walked in randomly. The service was excellent, really lovely people with lots of knowledge...
It seems there's really little more to say when you have first class, helpful service wonderful food and good value but tis place deserves special mention. Located riverside it's got a charming ambience from the small but comfortable upstairs dining room. A warm welcome and unhurried service make for a very pleasant lunch. Two courses for 15 euro or three for 20 is extremely good value give the food quality. Even the bread was home made and very very good. The menu du jour of course changes daily we had the Jerusalem artichoke veloute with a seafood sauce and prawns that was fabulous. Small restaurant nicely located on the Meuse river close to Arthur Rimbaud family house and museum. Limited choice in fact you are selecting how many dishes you would like. The “simplest” is entree plat dessert, and I can tell you it is already a very nice lunch !. If you have more time you can have gastronomic meal (6 dishes). The Chef is doing each day his menu (depending on how many people having lunch in the restaurant) not a choice ‘a la carte’ . But the meal is just perfect. dinner with a discovery menu worthy of the large star tables: neat presentation, perfect cooking, flavor agreements, cozy and calm atmosphere, irreproachable service, short nothing to say for a pure moment of happiness! We started with delicious and gourmet amuse-bushed: mini onion crunch and hot egg - cold with almond milk and then smoked salmon with celery foam, followed holy jacques with ravis and a chicken with girolles served with a cappuccino of potatoes. For several years I have been visiting Le Diapason. The dishes are created by the chef with fresh ingredients mainly coming from the region itself. The combinations are original and always respectful of the products used. The room is small indeed but the service is very attent, and the wine list offers very good picks. When visiting the Ardennes it is worth stopping there to discover how local products can make wonders.
We spent a great time in the restaurant the slide, the setting is beautiful. the staff is very welcoming, pleasant, the service is irreproachable. on the meal a journey full of flavors. the leader is an artist, a magician, a creator of happiness. We will come back with great pleasure. Thank youii
