I visited here several years ago and was not too impressed to be honest.This was a much better visit.Lunch is basic but the menu has just enough on it to keep everyone satisfied.Staff were happy to help and gave advice where necessary.Its not posh, its good honest food at good process.I was particurly impressed with the side portions of french fries and rice which were a really generous portion size.I would return
We were on the way back to Nice airport for afternoon flight and fancied a quick lunch. at random chose Le Duck. This turned out to be a great choice since locals were queueing for tables. A limited lunchtime menu of bistro classics served cheaply and very efficiently. This is not haute cuisine but but good wholesome stuff served in a busy friendly atmosphere.
Think there should be a different section for cafes...as this one would be top of the list! Not a full English by any stretch of the imagination...but a good effort none the less. Ask for a Grand Creme if you don't like drinking your coffee out of a sewing thimble! :) Went here for breakfast seven days on the run. Enough said!!!
The menu was simple, displayed on blackboards on the terrace. 7 types of dish with side dish to choose from french fries, rice, grilled veggies or salad.Deserts to choose from inside (typical french deserts like creme brulee etc).The food tasted very good. We stayed at the Hotel Splendid and decided to opt out of breakfast at the hotel as we like to try different places. Found this restaraunt with brilliant waiters who not only suggested places to go but offered a range of breakfast to suit. The freshly squeezed orange juice is a must.
Situated opposite the Hippodrome, we often come here for breakfast when visiting the Friday market. Good value, freshly squeezed juice, fresh bread and croissants, coffee - lovely start to the day!
Nice athosphear, like a small local place without too many tourists, older people eat their breakfast and read the newpaper here... the food is also just fine.
