Couple of years ago this was our favoritest place in Trouville serving greate fresh seafood.That,s why we were quite surprised for easily booking à table in the middle of August. It was good warning that we unfortunately ignored...Only 30-40% of the tables were occupied and shortly we realized why.We had the worst dinner in Normandy for the last 10 years (at least)!Oysters were not fresh and so salty, that we were wondering from where they managed to get them. Rose shrimps again were belle average but the stongest shock we experienced with lobsters (homard): the overall impression - they passed away last year! The location is great, right on the beach, with a beautiful view of the sunset. If you are interested in a place to sit and be ignored, this place would do nicely. We were interested in dining, though, and the service from our first waiter was so bad, it went beyond annoying and became farce. We were finally able to get a second waiter to take responsibility for our table and we were able to at least get a meal. Our worst experience over two weeks around Normandy, Brittany and Paris.
The restaurant has an ideal location, however we never got as far as ordering any food. My family were shown to a table indoors, but after 15 minutes nobody had taken our order, not even for drinks, and a customer at the next table rather rudely suggested we should leave because our children were becoming noisy. Thankfully we left, and 15 minutes later we were already eating at the nearest Pizza/Galette cafe on the beachfront.
Strange, food is served only inside in a glass enclosed space. One can only sit inside and suffocate of the heat and lack of air-conditioning.The outside open Terrace is only for short orders (drinks, coffee and ice-creams)The assortment of the Menu is fair and good, portions are nicely decorated, service very slow but friendly. sitting is placed at back to the neighbor table, noisy.

Great view, friendly help BUT food is not their specialty - bichots (mussels) were re heated - don't understand why since they only take a few minutes to steam - couldn't understand why they were shriveled up and quite petit till a poissonere on the port told us - have a drink and MOVE ON - seems the other reviews confirm mineEnrico S
It was nice to have a good dinner there !! With a fantastic view on the sea...with a sunset which let me "un grand souvenir" de Trouville, we loved the "langoustines" and the "bulots", so fresh and wonderful ! Of course the french wine was on time for our "rendez-vous" !!
Great location : on the beach of TrouvilleFood is average, price in concordance with the location (i.e. a bit expensive)On a crowded day, the personnel was great for us (family of 5) but appeared to be a bit more rude with some other customers (foreigners / tourists ?)
Le Galatee has the big plus of being literally on the beach without the inconveniences usually associated with eating right next to the sand. Seafood is fine, service quite friendly. We repeated the lunching experience several times during our stay in Trouville.

Ate here with my brothers family on his birthday the children were catered for really well . The food was very tasty and plenty of choice at a reasonable price. Great view of the beach during a thunder storm including people trying to stay dry.
