Le Gaspacho - Reservar una mesa

I was taken to this lovely little restaurant by friends and it did not disappoint. We visited for lunch and it was reasonably busy. Quick service and good choice on the menu of the day, which was 3 courses for €15. Food arrived promptly and portions were bigger than I would expect for a set menu. Very traditional restaurant that is well worth a visit.

We seemed to cause a little confusion by trying to go “off piste” with the menu. We weren’t too hungry, and really just wanted two starters/entrees each. It was definitely a case of “Computer says ‘No’”, and Madame was totally inflexible. Had to pick a “Formule” or leave. Food was quite good, but the attitude that night was disappointing.

The staff were very patient with our hesitant French and we had a 3 course meal with a small carafe of wine for 56euros which we felt was excellent value. Loved the chips with the skins on excellent with the salmon. And I loved the Ile Flotante for dessert.

We visited here on a Tuesday night. Primarily because so many places are shut on the first three days of the week. However the service was good, the food also. Next to the road but typically French. Maybe a bit pricier than expected but overall very good.

We had a set menu,all the food was excellent and the service good.Its only really a bar ,but the food is much better.We sat outside.
