Le Gran Taberna

The waitress welcomed us into the restaurant and although we were early for dinner she got us some wine and gave us some pintxos to tide us over until the chef started. The place filled up very quickly. There was a courtyard seating area but we sat inside as it had been raining. We had a mixed salad which was excellent, not sure we needed any thing else but we had ordered the bacalao in cider, which I didn't enjoy so much as I didn't like the texture. I think this was just my personal taste. Very good atmosphere.

La Gran Taberna is now known as La Taberna de Lola. It offered excellent service. The wait-staff was super friendly. The food was also pretty good. I heard from my family members that the Fabada and Paella were fantastic. The whole trip they kept saying how the best Paella was at that restaurant. They also enjoyed the sidra.

We had the most enormous feast here an endless number of dishes, good hearty fare and cider served with dramatic relish by the host. Great fun, although healthy may be somewhat questionable given the amount of calories you can put away here...

just around the corner from the Cathedral is this haven of peace and good dining. Had the 12 euro lunch menu; innovative, generous portions and friendly, professional service
