We had lunch here today and as it was a special occasion decided to eat in the Restaurant Gourmand and treat ourselves to the Menu Plaisir at 32.50 euros each. It looked good on paper, but fell way short once the food was served. Things didn't start well as the waitress discreetly, but firmly made sure we retained the industrial size, works canteen-like cutlery for the first two courses, by replacing our knife and fork in front of us after we'd finished the rather uninteresting, stingy mise bouche. My starter was a tartare de St Jacques which was OK-ish, just about. Very small but nevertheless I was expected to eat it with a colossal knife and fork and had to ask for a spoon to finish the sauce. I followed with rôti de jambon in a port reduction. Despite the impressive description all I got were two tiny, but very thick slices of ham (one about an inch thick), some potato, mushroom, a tomato and of course the sauce. Dessert had to be chosen when we initially ordered and I chose banana flambé. This again was disappointing as I was hoping for my banana to be flambéed at the table in front of me. Instead I got one warm banana in some non-descript sauce, with no taste of alcohol, a tiny meringue and a scoop of ice cream. As if that wasn't bad enough, the banana had a very sinister, black, bruised end which hadn't been removed. It didn't even look appetising. My wife chose different food for each course and was similarly disappointed. We finished with coffee (extra) and mine had been slopped in the saucer. We're so glad we didn't splash out on the Menu du Terroir at 42 euros a pop! This is not worth the three cocotte grading it has been awarded by the Logis chain it is affiliated to and is poor value. We live in the area and have had far superior meals in another 3 cocotte Logis restaurant for a similar price. Last time we dined here we ate with the workers and truckers in the relais section. This was enjoyable and at around 12.50 euros, unlike the Restaurant Gourmand, is good value for money.

When entering the restaurant you are given a choice of rapide (buffet) or the a la carte. we choose the a la carte which is served in a separate gourmand restaurant within the hotel building. We had a dog with us and this was no problem at all. Each course was served and presented carefully and beautiful. All the food was delicious and having eaten in a Michelin started restaurant before I can say this chef and staff definitely deserve a star for the ambience of the room and quality of the food which was presented. The food is priced quite fairly and there are options for a fixed price meal which we took; so if your on a budget four people can enjoy a 4 course course meal and a bottle of wine for less that EUR150. We were delighted with all the plates of food and the deserts were perfect. The coffee was good quality and served with home made macaroons and puddings (which I did not recognise but tasted so good). Unfortunately the sign outside the 3 star Le Grand Turc hotel is broken; it does not represent the restaurant fairly which offers a 5 star experience.

A 3 star hotel without the frills just 5 miles off the A83. Great hotel, with secure off street parking( at no charge) and comfortable rooms. We ate in the restaurant which was reasonably priced decent choice. The steaks were very good, we cant comment on anything else as that is all we had. Breakfast was a buffet with the usual choices. Very friendly and welcoming staff, we would defintely return here again.

The restaurant is worth a visit if you are not longing for a Michelin star but for reliable food. The menu is worth a look at: you choose the main course and you decide if you need a starter and/or as many dessert as you like. This costs you around 15 Euros: Very reliable! The winelist is not pricy at all.
