"My son and I stayed in Morillon for 4 days in January 2016 and treated ourselves to a meal out in the village. With choices quite sparse we opted for Le Grenier. You go up a few steps into a very traditional Savoyade attic room and we had a window table. Suffice to say the food was excellent, a great bottle of local red and free shots of eau de vie. A good end to a great few days. Don't miss it."

Arriving in Morillon on a Friday evening we tried 4 restaurants all of which were fully booked before finding Le Grenier tucked away in a first floor location. It was half full but turned out to be a decent meal I had goats cheese salad and my daughter a hamburger and chips. Both were fine. The lady serving disappeared to the kitchen to be replaced by her daughter. Shared as there are some bad reviews here and in my view is was fine and comparable to similar type restaurants in ski locations.
Went on 4/1/2016 with a party of 14 into an empty restaurant a sign! One person acting as waiter and chef . All food was pre cooked, old and not even warm once the lady attempted to heat it up! When we complained she grew increasingly upset and slammed the door behind us. We paid full price and what a waste of a precious night and money. Never never return. I haven 't bothered to look at other reviews but if there are good ones, they can only be from friends, relatives etc!
I could waste time telling you about our experience here. French food ..?? Let's not get into the politics ... this was a shocker by anyone's standards. Nine meals all poor and one to avoid at all costs. A pleasant lady running both sides of the counter makes this review all the more difficult to write ... but at a guess she doesn't need me to tell her this really was a massive disappointment and I only hope you read this before making a reservation Avoid !
Location, decor and menu all have potential for a wonderful experience. However, despite the welcome the meal was average and the room cold. It would appear one table had been gone before we arrived at 8pm. The only other diners had a relatively quick meal leaving our table of 4 the solitary diners. It was our most expensive meal during our 5 day stay in Morillon. The saving grace was an excellent and good value bottle of Bordeaux.
