We were passing down the valley and in search of lunch when we spied this attractive restaurant. The plat du jour was advertised as breast of chicken and rice for 9,50 Euros. We were shown to our table by an efficient waiter who took care of us very well through the whole meal. We ordered the plat du jour and two glasses of house rose (priced at 3,50 on the menu). The plat we received turned out to be lamb with mashed potato and carrot. It was excellent though - superbly cooked and presented and tasted divine. We finished with two coffees and congratulated ourselves on finding this lunch stop. However when we came to pay the bill the wine had been charged at 7 Euros a glass - double the adve...
We had roasted lamb chops with thyme, roasted duck breast in honey & thyme sauce, as well as Andrew's burger with fries. These main courses were followed by a dessert comprised of a tri of crème anglaise, chocolate cream and raspberry coulis, each with meringue foam floating on top. Dishes were very well prepared, equally well presented and served both timely and at the right temperature. We noticed a limited assortment of dishes, which is typically a good indication of use of fresh products. We paid about 70 Euro for the four dishes mentioned above combined with a liter of water and 2 glasses of red wine. In short, a pleasant experience that deserves recognition. We'll probably go back soon...
When we made reservations for year end diner they said to take into account the fact we have kids. On arrival they seemed to have forgotten that. We waited 70 mins for first course while the kids were pushed into a cheese fondue. After they finished we still had 3 courses to go...Painful to ask for couvert at every single course....We skipped most of the menu end paid the bill. Most painful was when leaving the over promising owner at the time we made reservations totally ignored us although it was very clear we felt cheated. They cannot live up to the standard they try to bring across. Don't go there!
Great little restaurant for dinner. Moved inside after finding it a little cool outside. Very nice decor and comfortable chairs. Both chose lamb with potato and ratatouille. Delicious and well presented. Drank a bottle of red with our meal. Owner and his wife ( who is the chef) and our waitress were all very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed this meal and recommend it to anyone who is staying nearby.

A charming restaurant in the centre of Chantemerle. Top quality food, fabulously presented and well-priced. Really lovely owners and staff, very welcoming and knowledgeable. A thoroughly enjoyable evening had and great way to round off my parents stay with us. Very much looking forwards to going back with our next set of guests!
the food was excellent. unfortunately our waiter wasnt interested, we didnt even get water or bread for half an hour after being seated. we had to ask to get our order taken. my husband's main meal did not come and after an hour, we couldnt wait and paid for the 2 main meals and 1 entree we did receive.
Visited on January 5th. Disappointing ambience. Staff unenthusiastic. Several advertised main courses not available. Main course for one guest served after others had finished eating. Not recommended.
Went here for lunch and dinner twice, great salad, steak and duck. Service was friendly and enthusiastic. Drank shots with the staff after, was a great couple of nights out. Owner has the cutest dog!

Not bad. Quite formal dining not really matched by food or service. Not sure about the dog in the restaurant. Could be an English thing- keeping dog and staff handling the food a bit separate.
The restaurant is fantastic, the chef came personally to ask your opinions out the food and the wine choice is fantastic! I highly recommend the raclette
