As an American land owner in Saint Sever-Calvados, Normandie, we recommend Le Manoir de l 'Acherie to anyone seeking a relaxing high quality dinner or lunch served in the wonderful French custom of no hurry and excellent cuisine, with warm home made bread, and hard to find American Martini . Madam Poignavant is a superb hostess, her husband a superb Chef, and the ambiance incredibly olde French...white table cloths, crystal , and silver....affordable prices, and a wonderful selection venue of traditional French cuisine. We were here for a week. Our group was dumped from a location closer to LeMans and this was the only alternative along the planned route......WOW......we really lucked-out......fabulous location, fabulous locally produced food, fabulous bed, quiet room, a real shower that worked perfectly, beautifully manicured grounds and fabulous hosts that happened to be the family owners, the chef and the hotel manager, so service was super and all wishes were fulfilled!!!
Manóir de l’Acherie When you arrive here , you will find a beautiful and well maintained garden with very relaxing atmosphere! The restaurant is more simple decor , service is friendly even we don’t speak French ! Food is more traditional Normandy cuisine goes with nice lovely apple sauce and calvados ! All pretty delicious! We had a pleasant time and thanks to the small teamwork !
Excellent family dinner. The food was delicious and the setting was charming. We were a large group of 10 including a wheelchair user and the restaurant had good facilities for disabled people. The staff were very kind and patient with our limited French language skills! The Normandie tart was especially tasty and if I go back I will have it flambée with Calvados. Thank you! Not our first time here, nor our last. The setting is charming, the service is traditional and absolutely on point, and the food is of the highest quality. the sole gripe is that the chairs are not the most comfortable in the world and some of our party of five actually found them so uncomfortable as to distract from the pleasure of the meal and dining experience.
Stayed one night in the Manoir and had dinner in the restaurant. All three courses were perfect with the Normandy Tarte Flambeed with Calvados being something I won't forget in a while. Our room was lovely. Whole experience was just what we would hope for, for a stay in a French Manoir and we would love to go back soon.
Just an amazing find. A beautiful setting, rooms are of a good size with great views and immaculate. The restaurant is one of the best we have dined in, with a huge open fire used for cooking, menus to accommodate all tastes and affordability. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
