Le Margoton - Reservar una mesa

Our dinner at Le Margotan really was one of the best meals we had during our three week trip to France... and we had excellent meals. We arrived in Agen on a cold and wet night discovering the restaurant we originally wanted to dine in was was closed. The canal boat operator in our marina recommended Le Margotan and it was a fabulous recommendation. It was nice walking through the old town on the way to the restaurant, the old buildings are beautifully lit. The restaurant is cosy and very elegant. The service was great and the meals were sensational using beautiful fresh local produce. The standout though was the entree of smoked salmon. A generous serve of salmon laid out like a rose, this inhouse smoked salmon was the best I have ever tasted ( leaves all others in its wake). The lemon souffle was stunning and the tarte aux pommes was perfect with crisp thin crust and delicious apples. The added bonus of madeleines and local specialty caneles with coffee were a delightful surprise. The wine list a perfect compliment to each course. I really wanted to return for another meal but it didn't work out but I will certainly return again when we next visit France.

Nous sommes tombés sur ce restaurant un peu par hasard, n'étant pas du coin.Dès notre entrée nous avons pu observé une décoration très soignée, très cosy, le tout dans une propreté exemplaire.L'accueil a été très chaleureux et convivial.Nous avons pris le menu à 37€.Les plats sont raffinés, élégants, bien cuisinés et bien assaisonnés,juste un léger bémol sur la cuisson du homard et des crevettes (légère sur cuisson).Pour tout le reste c'était parfait, à noter que ces restaurateurs réalisent quasiment tout eux mêmes, notamment le pain qui est excellent, ainsi que la confiture de cerise avec le fromage.Les vins sont bien choisis également.Très bon moment gastronomique !

Accueil par la patronne très agréable et chaleureux tout en restant discret. Repas excellent (formule poisson + viande).Je recommande avec plaisir et nous y retournerons.

Très bon repas.produits frais et de qualité. Table soignée. Personnel agréable et discret.choix satisfaisant :chacun trouve son bonheur en viande ou poisson...

Gentillesse, bonne cuisine, cadre soigné, nous y avons nos habitudes avec mon mari ; nous recommandons !
