Pascal, our server really made our visits to Le Martingo special and enjoyable. We had dinner there on three consecutive nights as we were staying at Chateau Bourron and there is very little choice of places to eat in the small village of Bourron-Marlotte. Le Martingo is perfectly located as it is a 5 minute (if that) walk from Chateau Bourron. There's no need to drive which is perfect after a few glasses of wine.We had tried Le Bistrot du Broc twice and did not like the food. Les Premices was good on the first occasion but we were disappointed the second time as the food and service (inexperienced junior staff) was so-so. On the first night at Martingo, we ordered a bottle of wine and only consumed half so we asked that they save it for our return the next evening. When we arrived the next evening, Pascal welcomed us warmly, had the same table reserved for us and the bottle of wine was already on the table. Pascal has a delightful sense of humour, was very engaging, accommodating, patient and answered all my questions about the menu. Pascal's command and understanding of the English language was excellent.Thank you Pascal. You are so good at what you do.

We stayed at the Chateau Bourron which recommended this charming local place. We had two dinners here, and enjoyed them both. My wife has a glass of wine with dinner (I do not), and the wines recommended were quite suitable for the meal ordered. The food is very nice yet is not pretentious, and the prices are very fair. We noticed that most of the clientele were Village residents who evidently eat here often, and sometimes have the chef join them in a glass of wine.A village restaurant must necessarily attract returning locals to do well, and this one does well as a local favorite.

This is a very nice restaurant for lunch. We had our baby with large stroller with us, which was no problem. Try the terrine the maison! Avoid the salade de maison (unless you are up for the most unhealthy salad in the world with fried Camembert with baked potatoes and bacon). Make sure to make reservations. We were there on Tuesdays and the place was packed. Lovely experience with very nice staff.

the food and service were exemplary. Portions were large. food was tasty and the staff aimed to please. My husband asked for a little grand marnier over the tiramisu and not only did the server bring the bottle but gave it to my husband to pour as much as he liked. We offered to pay but it was free of charge!
