We had a great family dinner at Mazot last night. We have found that previous reviews a little hard on our experience yesterday felt compelled to share our experience. The waiting team was friendly, friendly and efficient. The children's menu was small but good to make sure there was something that every little appetite could enjoy. The adult main and desserts were excellent, a good variety. Steaks were delicious. We all enjoyed our selected meals. The wine map was also good, we enjoyed inexpensive excellent wines. It seems to me that all the restaurants in 1950 village have the same food. It’s almost as if they are owned by 1 or 2 people. If this is real French mountain food then standards have dropped. I have been here 3 times over the years and this was the worst time. The cheese dishes were the same as any other 1950 restaurant. I had steak which was full of gristle, the chickpea curry was inedible but the pizzas were good. The worst offending dishes were the “homemade” desserts profiteroles were…. well no idea what they were, resembled leather footballs and tasted worse and the tiramisu was squirty cream and oriol crushed biscuits. We also had to put jackets on as it was freezing! Best they rebran...
We had a reasonable meal, but nothing special. The restaurants in the light of 1950 have an imprisoned audience unfortunately, so none of them seems to try too hard. The American waitress was pleasant and our burgers were delicious, although my daughters vegetarian / vegan option was disappointing. It was dry and tasteless. Our friends had the hot plate where they had to cook their own food. Very average again.
We had a pretty bad experience here. It took them an hour to serve us the food!!! We ordered the Pierrade dish, which is raw meat we needed to make us never written in the menu. It is really dangerous to eat chickens that is not well done and they let us cook ourselves! After I let them know I'm angry, they said they can't talk to me, just the manager, and he didn't come! It was a very bad experience!
