Le Petit Chalet

Well situated in the centre of Thônes below the Hotel du Midi. There is an extensive menu offering all the usual regional dishes plus burgers and salads but the plat du jour which was a joue du boeuf with foie gras, salad & polenta chips was of unexpectedly high quality. It was served with an excellent local red wine. Two meals plus wine & coffee were less than 40 euros. The puddings looked good but we didn't have room. It was very busy on a Sunday lunch time and we were lucky to get a table. Under the circumstances the service was amazingly efficient and, despite the rush, very friendly. I have never seen 3 waitresses work so hard! Well worth a visit and worth booking at busy times.

Wanting to escape the crowds of Annecy my daughter and I sped to the hills and valleys and found this delightful restaurant in Thones. The village itself is charming and not on the tourist trail, well certainly not for Brits and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The menu her is good with vegetarian options and all very reasonably priced at less than 50euro for dinner with drinks. Well worth the trip for both scenery and a nice meal.

This restaurant has a pleasing interior. The food was plentiful and tasty. The burgers are cooked in what seems to be the norm in France, Raw in the middle so ask for it to be well done if that is your preference.

Very good small restaurant in the center of Thônes. Beautiful decoration, good savoyard specialties and attentive staff. Nothing to blame, we came twice in the week.
