Le Pied De Poule - Reserva de mesa

So many restaurants in Rouen! So little time! This one was exceptional! An extremely helpful host and a waitress that simply couldn't do enough. A three course meal for 19 euros, we shared courses! Wow! The starters were too big and scrumptious. The beef just melted in my mouth with a flavour indescribable for my main! The sweet. The cream dessert well, the taste still lingers. Then the music, it seemed odd to be listening to 1950s/1960s American hits but then there is an American theme to the restaurant albeit French food. My partner was equally impressed. Small complaint was the very expensive Sauvignon Touraine wine which wasn't good! I'll drink beer next time!

We had a look at several restaurants within walking distance of our hotel, selected this one because we were tempted by the special dinner offer of pork cooked in a wood oven. This came with frites salad it was really good. Our other choice of lamb was also tasty served with herb mashed potatoes a rich sauce. Service was excellent, we were warm and comfortable on a chilly night the bill was surprisingly modest.

We found this restaurant by chance and were so pleased. Very calm relaxed evening. The menu was very reasonable and also fixed price menus available. Good wine list. Do your best to squeeze a desert in because they are very very good! Waitress very kind and patient.
