Le Pily - Reservar una mesa

My wife and I last dined at Le Pily when it was in a side street to the west of the yacht basin and without the Guide Michelin we would never have been aware of it. Now it is beside the famous swing bridge in what used to be the old harbour master 's office. The concept of the New Pily is excellent with every seat having a stunning view over the port. The tables and everything on them complement the building. The food, as we expected, was delicious and the asiatic theme of the six course tasting menu worked really well. The only false note was struck by the floppy finger of oil soaked focaccia that accompanied La Bouille Cherbourgeoise and which was bigger than the dish itself. All the staff...

We were so lucky. I've always wanted to eat here, unfortunately they close on Sundays. But no! Last night they were open as they had had a table of 6 cancel at the last minute, we struck gold. The menu was out of this world, Japanese influence throughout, lots of very different sushi style food, hot and cold. Wine chosen to complement every dish. Charming, attentive, but never intrusive staff. Service with a smile, they truly merit their Michelin star. Bravo! We will most definitely return!

An example of why we have been traipsing around France for 40 years enjoying wonderful cooking. A Michelin starred restaurant with substance as well as style. Probably the best meal in 4 weeks on this trip. Creativity that doesn't sacrifice taste. A young and caring wait staff, a lean but attractive dining room, and an overall brilliant evening.

Visited here during a sailing trip to France. Was a pleasant surprise to find such a sophisticated restaurant in Cherbourg. The menu is quite limited but beautifully curated.....and service excellent. A generally older crowd who I suspect were appreciative of the quality cuisine. Only negative lacked a bit of atmosphere it’s all about the food.
