In desperation of finding somewhere decent at Erlabunga and despite the very contradictory reviews for the Pirate,(and its Disneyworld name which does it no service! we decided to eat here. We were anxious because they had lost their Michelin star earlier in the year and we couldn’t help but wonder why. What can I say? Utterly amazing food and service! Give them back their Michelin star NOW! Fresh, local food that was absolutely perfect. Helpful and very knowledgable staff and a relaxed, laid back atmosphere. Don’t eat here if you can’t afford to and then whinge about the prices you pay for what you get in this life and at the Pirate you pay for excellent food. Don’t be put off by their craz...

We had come more than 10 years ago and we had already kept a good memory. this time, we came back on the occasion of our daughter's birthday and it was a mistake from beginning to end. finesse, taste, presentation, only success. a service also impeccable, pleasant, effective and attentive. Restaurant met mooie inrichting aan het haventje van Erbalunga. Vriendelijke ontvangst. Keuze uit meerdere menu’s waaronder een verrassingsmenu van 4 of 6 gangen. Wij gingen voor het 4 gangenmenu. Wijnkaart is uitstekend en biedt veel keuze. Hier wordt uitstekend gekookt ; een van onze beste ervaringen op Corsica subtiel , delicaat en inventief. Dus zeer aanbevolen. Alleen een beetje jammer dat het 4 gangen menu bestond uit éen amuse en 3 gangen. Noem het dan een 3 gangenmenu. Ook prima. De uitleg was dat het menu bestond uit “4 etapes” ….

This was one of the best meals I had in France. It is the way the chef combines flavors to make unique tastes you can not find anywhere else. This is one of a kind! It is also connected with the region's history of pirates. It has a soul. Also, I arrived by bus from Bastia a wee bit too early, and they were kind enough to let me hang out in the lobby for a bit before lunch began. Didn't book managed to get a table outside for lunch after dropping by to look at Erbalunga. Menu découverte @75 euros excellent value extremely well done large portions. Nice to see them using quite a few British products Herefordshire beef was a star turn. Excellent, relaxed service. Lovely sitting out on a nice day overlooking the small harbour. Very glad we went.

Really excellent!!!! Exquisite as usual. Service being amazing and sommelier’s selection is outstanding. We ordered the 4 course menu excellent value. Really appreciated the sommelier gave me the number of his friend selling the wine we loved so much during dinner. The day after we bought 4 cases of it!! Thank you!!!!

We had read one or two less than fulsome reviews about Le Pirate, but they were not borne out on our visit. Lovely view by the small harbour in Erbalunga. Good service, especially the young sommelier. Langoustine tortellini was the start dish. Local wines by the glass. Not cheap!

Great dining and environment, until we got the bill… apparently their computer has a “bug”, over 120 euros were sneaked into the bill, glad we checked carefully. Beware
