Le Poivrier - Reservar una mesa

Le Poivrier was a lucky find on the night of the mid-summer Fête de la Musique. It's a small, smart and tidy restaurant with a welcoming staff and air conditioning on a hot, hot night! Just stopped in for one course ( so much music to go and listen to!) We had carefully cooked scallops and prawns with roasted cherry tomatoes and a tasty parsnip purée ( needed a vegetable fix after so much cheese!). Wine list was small but featured a delicious Sancerre. Reasonable prices, too.

Extreme French arrogance - waited 20 minutes for a menu and after 40 minutes in total we gave up. It wasn't because the waiter didn't see us - we were sitting next to the kitchen in a less than half full restaurant. Apparently he couldn't be bothered serving foreigners. The food looked nice, but we never got to taste it.

Fantastic menu du jour of Greek salad, chicken main and pineapple dessert (dishes not as simple as my description!) Very good value at 17 euros. Heartily recommend a visit.
