I would say this is coming close to the most I've ever spent on a meal for two at least where only one bottle of wine is involved). And it was unfortunately one of the worst. I can't complain about the service, they were...actually lovely, but the food was poor. An amuse-bouche of carrot purée, (not skilfully flavoured as you'd expect); starters of anchoiade which was salty but little else; and the main, a fish risotto (which was my introduction to Camargue red rice), was a cheesy mess of stodgy rice and battered fish balls. the ambiente is cozy and attractive. the service is friendly. the dishes are just a wonderful experience with creative taste and balance. one of the two best cook in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.
