Le Puits du Trésor

We happened to see an advert as we came down from the chateaux for an evening of food and jazz at the Auberge in two days' time. It was 39euro for a 3 course meal and wine tasting, with live jazz, all prepared by the chef of the 2Michelin star restaurant at the front of the AUberge La Puits de Tresor . We booked on the spot. FANTASTIC food, the local wines which were represented were wonderful and served by people who knew what they were talking about. Try this restaurant in Lastours, we found the service very friendly (there is an English version of the menu if needed), the children's option isn't the usual chicken nuggets, but when we visited was chicken breasts on aubergine, courgette, and potato with a delicious jus. The vegetarian amongst us enjoyed the goats cheese toasts with salad, and cheesecake. The meat eater loved his trout, and steak. House wine delicious. Setting calm and peaceful. Try it, you will love it!

We had lunch at this restaurant/brasserie. Because it is connected with the Michelin restaurant at the same place, we had expected a better place. Our gazpacho and our confit de canard was OK and fine and not expensive, but the waiter was rather slow and not very service minded and some of our bread was dry ends, which should have been thrown away. But it is just beside the four castles, and it that way it is very convenient, and the view is fine.

The food was simple, made with fresh ingredients delicious. We took the menu for 20€ each (entree plat dessert). Entree was a salad mix of watermelon, tomatoes eggs with bits of ham , main course-chicken with a creamy semolina side potatoes, finished with a chocolate fondant with an orange coulis caramel or butter icecream..overall, a pleasurable lunch in the countryside with the sound of nature

I believe this restaurant shares its kitchen with the Michelin star restaurant next door. The food was excellent and well priced. Service was a bit slow but that would be my only criticism.
