The atmosphere is very inviting, warm, and eclectic. As other reviewers have noted the complementary bread and butter was average, but it was still nice to have. I’d rather of had something over nothing; many restaurants don’t even offer bread before dinner. My boyfriend and I ordered the escargot, trout, quail, profiteroles, and ice cream with a pear. The escargot stole the show. It was incredibly delicious and buttery and the tomatoes had a ton of flavor. I really enjoyed applying butter to some bread and dunking it into the escargot sauce; I could’ve eaten that alone all night. The mains, trout and quail, were both good. A new (to us) favorite in Old Town! Le Refuge was surprisingly delightful and we felt like we were back in France. The food was delicious and our waiter was very friendly and helpful. Definitely make a reservation because this place gets packed. The profiteroles were a perfect end to a fantastic evening. Very highly recommended! I didn't take pictures but should have. The food was absolutely delicious! My hubby had the Veal Scallopini, and I had the Beef Tips and Beetroot Salad with Goat cheese. Highly recommend ALL!!
