I am an American in France for 20 years, and my wife is French and was a restaurant owner for 7 years. We are not especially picky but this was a bad restaurant experience. The deco uninteresting, the service slow and inattentive. The food was worse than bad...it was boring! The shrimp salad had 3 large fresh shrimp which must have delicious before it was drowned in the tasteless vinaigrette and surrounded by the limp salad. The steak was tender and would have been wonderful if it had not been covered by a completely bland mushroom sauce that even the generous addition if salt and pepper did not help. The steak was accompanied by frozen vegetables and potato cakes that very resembled what I ate as a child in my school cafeteria. I had high hopes for the cheese plate, after all this IS France and it requires no cooking...but no. Three different cheeses refrigerator cold and all equally tasteless. All of this could be forgiven if we were paying the price of a cafeteria or a Flunch...but no: 40 € each without wine!Please do your taste buds and wallet a favor and if your are staying at this hotel and need to eat ... take a left out the door, walk one block and you will find a wonderful little Kebab restaurant.
