Incredible value for solid, home-cooked French food.We ate for €13.50 and had:SoupStarters (as much as you want from a huge buffet)Main courseCheeseDessertCoffeeWith a bottle of wine thrown in!This spot was recommended to us by our hosts at the Gite we are staying in - they said it would be "nothing special, but solid good food, good value and good fun." It was all of that.I recommend booking on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, as there are a whole load of locals, plus lots of truckers stopping off for a big feed to fortify them for the next leg on their journey.
This is very popular with the locals so if you want to try it get there for 12 as by ten past it'll probably be full! They offer a good salad starter selection , at least 6 main course options and lots of desserts. You pay less than 15 euros before you site down, help yourself to the starter and dessert and are served your main. You also get the choice of wine included in the price and if you have room a cheese course and coffee! Definitely worth a visit. Don't expect any frills though, just local wholesome food.
From the frontage this relais looks tired but the number of trucks and cars parked outside promised it would be good, and it was. A very large selection of entrees ( as much as you wanted) followed by a choice of probably seven main courses, cheese, and a selection of desserts plus wine - all for 13.50 euros. The place was packed and people were queueing for a table. Service was good and the staff nice and pleasant. Will certainly visit again.
One of only two restaurants in the area, we had eaten at the other for lunch. This is a truck stop with a continuous in and out of big rigs and drivers. The await staff were very friendly and helpful particularly given our broken French. Definitely eating with the locals as noted in previous reviews and basic food well prepared. Large entre buffet, choice of 5 plats and dessert, 13.50€.
