Le Rendez-Vous - Reservar una mesa

Sunday evening stop over on European road trip, staying near Pontarlier. Hotel owner recommended Le Rendezvous to us. Only one waitress who was rushing around in a panic, sweating. We waited quarter of an hour to even place an order for drinks. Food arrived half an hour after that and was below par. My ham with Rosti was basically two rolled up pieces of ham with packet Rosti fried. My daughter supposedly had fish with menuire sauce. Turned up with little dry pieces of fish and no sauce.

This isn't as cheap as some of the other very solid restaurants in the area, and as is normal we struggled as vegetarians, but the service is always wonderful, the food is exceptional.We used to enjoy meat in forestière sauce but now stick to fondu and mushrooms. The quality of ingredients is amazing and anything you try you need to have with vin jaune. Doesn't look like much but I go each time I'm in town.

It's true that this restaurant seems closed, we're in, the boss is here. one can settle, despite the bad pub of some people, the meal was very simple but very good. no need to have a .menu extension card of the day with two entries and two dishes to choose from, desserts to choose from. a moment of rare conviviality with other customers and the boss, future Canadian....the price may be, this reasonable.

Traditional restaurant worth finding. Doesn't look exciting from the outside but nice decor inside. Very welcoming & friendly, speaks good English. Food is good quality, well prepared & presented. Thoroughly enjoyable meal.
