Back in seventies when I went on miserable Gites holidays with my family the trip up and down was where all the fun was had. My father had an expert nose for spotting a good Routiers cafe. Then the Routiers became a so so guide book and the sort of badge you saw on restaurants where you were more likely to see people from Petersfield on the way to the Dordogne than an actual trucker. All French truck driver stops used to be like this gem.Good simple food served quickly and cheaply. Opens at 0500. Shuts at 1500 which says it all. .
