The 5 stars are for the price to quality ratio. For 28,50€ an excellent 3 course menu. I don’t understand how they can do it for that price in our country (NL it’s simply impossible. Also the price of the wines is very acceptable. Many bottles to chose from, including some 10 half bottles. The menu includes 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts to choose from. All fresh and well prepared. Only the vegetable risotto could have contained some more veggies. For dessert I choose the cheese platter (no extra price! : 3 perfectly ripe local cheeses to enjoy. we ate here on a warm Friday night end juni. the restaurant was not very busy, but despite this service was a little slow. the owner was quite formal to start with, but became more relaxed as the evening went ahead, and we enjoyed our dining room experience. for starters we had fresh salmonrrine, which was excellent, and we had steaks for the main course that were nice, but as usual in france, a bit harder than we are used in Britain. the deserts were high quality. from the weinliste we have enjoyed chablis and cotes de rhone both reasonable worth. joinville is a very pleasant and pretty city and we would not have hesitated to return to the soleil d’or to dinner.
we stayed in joinville on the way back from italia to Britain. we stumbled on the restaurant that also has room, but we did not stay there. many French eat there, which is a good sign. that is a great restaurant. we had. the budget menu 3 courses for 27 euro and it was really great. many interesting flavors and good size components. we had a cheese instead of dessert without a price and had three good pieces. we chose the house red wine from a full and fruity bordeaux. If you wanted to be critical, I could imagine that the service might be a little slow, as only one person served, but she did well by us.

We had dinner in the hotel and had dinner at the associated restaurant.Despite a somewhat steep service (stress of the young man the staff is professional and eager to do well. The dishes are well presented, tasteful, perfectly cooked and seasoned. A very correct addition to the quality of this restaurant.
We were going to this restaurant for the first time. The staff and owners are very welcoming and very friendly. We were able to enjoy the pretty terrace and the evening plancha (a unique meal we enjoyed from end to end. I'll recommend this restaurant if you're in the corner.
very beautiful small town in a beautiful opposite. we will order rooms. Please note that check-in is only open late in the afternoon. restaurant is amazing. short menu and very rooted in local products. a feeling of the very authentic French rural cuisine.
From the starter (Beef carpaccio for him and cheese tart for me) to the main (steak for him and fish for me) to the dessert (chocolate for me and cheese plate for him) to the wine every bite, every sip was a delight.
