Quaint traditional French cafe in small neighborhood plaza visited this evening. Offer a classy but approachable interior and a relaxed, outdoor patio near another restaurant and plenty of seating. Arrived on a weeknight while in the area on business...no reservation... and received a warm neighborhood...welcome by every member of the wait staff who were delighted to help introduce items on the menu and ensure we were well taken care of. Menu offers a range of classics and innovative dish specials. Favorite dish was grilled asparagus over a savory pastry with foamed cream and herbs over this with a hint of spice...delicious. Travelling alone on business, stuck in Guyancourt on a Friday night, and looking for a decent place to eat. This is a pretty sleepy suburb of Paris (at least in the off-tourist season) where the sidewalks roll up early and restaurants are few and far between, let alone good ones. Place was very busy on a cold January evening - late rush consistent with the French habit of dining a little later. Menu is not extensive but fairly traditional brasserie. Staff was very accommodating; my waiter spoke excellent English (way better than my French anyways). My meal arrived quickly and was excellent. Check this place out if you are ever out here on business or checking out the Palace at Versailles.

we were disappointed because it had great recordings, but our experience was corrupted by several things. the service was cheerful, but slow. my wife ordered her rump steak a point, but it was bien cuit. my brochette de saint jacques was nice, but the brochette of...only 5 holy jacques was not worth the price. the frits were overcooked. the rosé wine was not cooled. I noticed that our French neighbours got a cooler with their bottle of rosé.

We were disappointed because it had great write-ups but our experience was spoilt by several things. Service was cheerful but slow. My wife ordered her rump steak "a point" but it was "bien cuit". My Brochette de Saint Jacques was nice but the brochette of only 5 saint jacques not worth the price. The frites were overcooked. The rosé wine was not chilled. I noted that our French neighbours got a chiller with their bottle of rosé.

Arrived with a group having made a reservation several weeks in advance. Was surprised that they did not have my reservation, which had been confirmed, but it was not an issue as they had a table for us. The menu was pretty basic but the food was very good and service was excellent. Great value for money.
