Driving through tree-bound roads was the perfect prelude for our quiet, relaxing stay in the country in the charming Le Vallon de Gayet in Mouries, France for 6 nights in May 2018. The clean, rustic but comfortable air-conditioned rooms had a comfortable layout that enabled us to rejuvenate time as we prepare for our next exploration. Bathroom and wardrobe/storage rooms were more than sufficient. We sat on the terrace in front of our room and enjoy the local wine, olives, baguettes and cheese under star-filled evenings. The location in southern France near many tourist attractions allows for beautiful and historical day trips and activities. Morning breakfast in the bar area greeted us with our own personal table set in the warmth of the stone fireplace. Our day began with a delicious spread of croissants, baguettes, special breads, lavender honey, butter, jam, cheese, sausage, yogurt, eggs, omelets, fruit, coffee, teas, milk, orange juice, granola and cereals served by the congenial waiting staff. Le Vallon de Gayet Restaurant is also known for the excellence of its wood-fired grill and the beautiful terraced outdoor kitchen. Not only our evening meal served inviting settings, but the selection of meals were delicious and generous. But the actual value of Le Vallon de Gayet is the staff. William and the staff went beyond and beyond us. Not only were they helpful and gracious with our daily needs, but they took the time to turn around with us. They helped make our breakfast and dinner not only delicious, but relaxing social events. Unfortunately, a few days in our stay, I suffered from a broken leg. Each of them went beyond and beyond by arranging doctor appointments, transport to appointments for medical care and transport via golf carts around the grounds. William drove us to all the necessary medical facilities and helped us with the language translations for registrations and the diagnosis to us. The quiet surroundings of Le Vallon de Gayet and the excellent personal attention of the staff make this a... We hope to return as soon as possible. Kay Marotz
