"We visited here to talk to the chef about providing catering for a function and were a little surprised at the setting BUT the food was amazing and the service very friendly. We stayed in Chateau Gontier overnight for our last night in France at the end of a great Motorhome holiday. After walking and driving around the town for some time looking for a good restaurant we were surprised to find this place at the back of the large riverside car park where we were parked, 100m from our motorhome! The food, wine and service are second to none and if you enjoy fine dining we would highly recommend it. The two ladies at front of house were friendly but unobtrusive and coped well with our appalling French! We had the 46€ menu preceded by wonderful appetisers and a muse bouch. The lobster risotto is to die for, the filet steak cooked to perfection and the orange soufflé,...

Located on the lot of Frances largest and premier beef auction market, the setting is actually very cool. Once inside you are welcomed by a luxurious spotless while warm setting. Staff is amazing and Mt Marsollier very attentive coming out from the kitchen making the rounds to chat with the guests several times. Then the food! Wow! Absolutely delicious and creative. The trio of scallops was amazing starter. The riz de veaus the best I have ever had. Our neigbhouring table had a lobster dish set in a large green cabbage. It looked spectacular and judging from their reactions, delicious.The cheese selection could have been more adventurous but the soufflé desser made up for it!
