Le Vin Papillon

The bustling atmosphere can be a bit overwhelming but the staff immediately put us at ease and made us feel welcome. We had just arrived in Montreal and couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the city. I took a photo of the menu so we could sit comfortably at the bar and decide our choices, though the server was also really helpful, very friendly, and bilingual (as seem to be most people in Montreal). The food is deceptively simple (paper-thin shaved ham and shaved cheddar, with a drizzle of brown butter -- so terrifically good!) but so well- prepared that you really can't go wrong with anything you choose. We had four small plates (the ham, eggplant caviar, and smoked rabbit) and the servings were really generous -- so this was plenty for the two of us. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Montreal, and a place we'd be sure to return to when we go back to Quebec.

I am so glad we came to this place, thanx to our new Montreal friends. This is place owned by the owner of world famous Joe beef restaurant. This is also a wine bar that has great selections of wines but we still went for local wines like we always do. Try some sea urchins, mussels, clams or prawns. You will not be sorry. Every dish is fed with fresh vegetables that grows in their own garden near the restaurant terrace. The atmosphere is great and if you are going with the sea food, try some local riesling. You will absolutely enjoy it. Prices are a bit on a high side but nothing too much. However, if you come hungry like we did, you might end up on a larger bill. Nevertheless it was surely worth it.

Vin papillon is one of 3 of the best restaurants in Montreal belonging to the same group , Joe beef and LIVERPOOL house Last night at an amazing back yard terrace we had an amazing dinner & wine , it's all about sharing food ! The crowd is cool , the service is great ! If in Montreal , you will have to visit the 3 restaurants ! President Obama did 3 weeks ago

We were 3 adults who got there early to avoid long waiting time, which was perfect.Smoked cauliflower, razor blade clams and sturgeon pate were good but I expected more flavour mixes and balances. Unfortunately, although the food was good, I did not get that experience which was a bit disappointing for the price paid.

the atmosphere is very cozy and food was really amazing. all ingredients are fresh, they do know how to mix and match between ingredients really recommend for having a good time at patio you can see and smell they boil broths
