Le Zakouski - Reservar una mesa

I went there with a friend, we both lived in Russia for a while and I was happy to meet my friend in a Russian restaurant. What I can say after living a few years in Russia that, the food at Le Zakouski is very low quality and the knowledge of the Russian gastronomy is very poor. When I saw in the menu blini , I was expecting a crepe since in Russian, the word blini means crepe. Instead of that I got an already a sort of Russian pancake. Then my friend got a soup borsch and she told how is your food? This borsch is not good... My pelmeni were as good as frozen pelmeni you can buy in a Russian shop. Regarding the atmosphere, in the restaurant it was cold, even if a small heater was installed...

My wife being Russian I have spent quite a few vacation periods in the land of the tsars. I have to say, that eating in this restaurant is like making a quantum leap to the family's house in Russia. The owner is very friendly and always ready to have a chat with you. Being a small surface, it is more than recommended to make your reservation in advance. If u are in Paris, and want to experience the Russian home made style of food... This is a must!
