I hesitated to order the usual bacon and eggs breakfast, as it seemed bland and honestly, I could have enjoyed that for free at the breakfast buffet during my vacation. I didn't want to spend $10.99 on something so ordinary. Instead, I chose the Nova Scotia breakfast, which was essentially the standard bacon and eggs but included a fish cake as well for $12.99. Unfortunately, there weren't many options on the menu that offered anything different from what I'd already experienced at hotel breakfasts throughout the week. When the server returned, she informed me that they were out of fish cakes. It was a Sunday morning around 8:30, and they had run out? Alright, I guess I'll just go with the...

For most of my life I haven't traveled a whole lot, but nonetheless it's still surprising that I've never been to Legends in all my years of air travel. It's only one of a couple options for adult beverages on the domestic departures side, so you think I would have popped in for refreshments, but no. I took the initiative on my most recent flight out of YHZ when I needed my breakfast fix but wasn't feeling like a Tim Horton's breakfast sandwich. It was still fairly empty when I arrived, as it was just after 10am, so there there only a couple other tables occupied. The VLTs weren't even on yet! I was greeted quickly, grabbing an OJ while I perused the menu. There were a handful of breakfast o...

I would rate the fish in the fish and chips dish four stars for its freshness and the deliciousness of the Schellfisch that comes with the chips. The service was very friendly and prompt. It seems that the servers engage in conversation with the male diners just as much as the female diners, which might just be a matter of personal preference. However, the chips that accompanied the fish were quite disappointing. They were bland and gummy in texture. I can only guess that they were frozen, then thawed and refrozen, resulting in that unpleasant mushy consistency. Overall, if you find yourself here, I'd suggest enjoying the fish with a side salad instead!

Not many options at the domestic terminal after security, not many options at this small airport at all but it meets your standard requirements of booze and TV. They have couple of TVs for the sports aspect of the name, and all your standard booze and beers for the bar portion. I had a Rickards White Ale and it was in the neighborhood of $8-9, not bad considering it is an airport bar in Halifax. The bartender was really nice and they even have outlets behind the bar so you can plug in and charge your stuff while you are drinking the time away. This is not fancy or pantsy, your average bar in an airport.

I should be in Halifax airport half an hour before my flight to Deer Lake, NL. But we were an hour late to Toronto, so I missed my connecting flight and had a 2.5-hour waiting time for the next flight to Deer Lake. I had lunch in legends... it's the only restaurant if you're safe, so there's no great choice. There are VLTs in the restaurant if you are lucky. I ordered a club sandwich (minus of salad) with boiler chips. It was okay. I'm not a big fan of boiler chips, so most of them leave. Melinda was my server and she was quick and friendly.

Legends Sports Bar is the only sit down full service option at the Halifax airport once you are upstairs waiting for a flight. The food is standard sports bar fare. I had a BBQ pizza that had too much cheese, but was otherwise decent. Expect rather institutional food that is edible, but not amazing. The cheesecake might have come from Costco, but it was good. Surprisingly, the service here is very good. While it may not be the norm, my server was excellent with everything from special requests to refills.

My son ordered the fish and waffles. He mentioned that the fish was tasty, but quite greasy. The waffles were interesting but tough to chew. I tried the lobster roll accompanied by boiled chips—my first lobster roll! The lobster was tender and flavorful, and the boiled chips were fantastic. The roll itself was just okay. I also enjoyed a delightful glass of local red wine.
