A disgrace for Le Grand Bornand... Seldom I have been in a restaurant as cold, arrogant and unwelcome as L'Entracte in Chinaillon. Can the previous owners return, please..., they were great hosts. I was looking forward to an evening with my wife and kids, booked in advance. It was a slow week, with many restaurants almost empty. I had good experience with this place before, but that was a distant past. We were "welcomed" in an OK-ish manner, not warm, just OK, this is not normal for this normally very friendly and warm part of France. Menu in L'Entracte is definitely one of the best in Chinaillon, and the quality of products and plates is always high. Excellent fondue (especially with sparkling wine) and some italian specialities, as gnocchi (as they have italian chef), that also makes tasty alternative from traditional food in Alps. We had both pleasant experience with family and especially friends, however as restaurant is tiny and they always full its worth making reservation in advance, to ensure to have place. Side to the restaurant there is Wine bar, managed by young sommelier Toni, that is a great place to have aperitif before dinner or a simple drink with friends (some nice local wines). In general - really good a...

We ate lunch here twice. On our first visit we enjoyed the special deal of a pizza, glass of wine and a coffee for about €15. The wine was very good and so we managed to almost double this cost. The service from Tony was attentive and prompt. The food on both occasions was good and I loved the freshly baked bread that accompanies everything. Surprisingly when I asked for some cheese after a lunch they told me that they did not serve cheese dishes. In Haute Savoie? They operate a wine cave next door and we enjoyed a very good local wine after lunch.
