"We were looking for a pizza restaurant around Castlenaud at lunchtime and came across L'Eole. It wasn't busy and had a rustic charm. The menu looked reasonable so we gave it a go. We were pleasantly surprised at the standard of the food. Our pizzas were delicious."

We visited here for takeaway pizza when we arrived at bel ombrage the camp site next door. The Pizza’s were delicious so we booked a table the week later after 10 mins the place was getting busy with locals which is a good sign we were sat outside and the place was well presented we ordered 2 pizzas to share, cepes, pomme sarladaise rose wine. The food was piping hot and pizzas the 4 fomages was lovely the la royal a bit bland the cepes were over cooked and about 10 small pieces for €5 and the potatoes with garlic cepes was in a tiny dish with a lid not enough for two people so disappointing the problem was the amount of flies wasps not one or two but dozens everywhere on the table we covere...

We had been recommended L'eole because of the restaurant's use of truffles in their dishes. Luckily we had reserved a table in advance because arriving there we learned that it was fully booked, as most Sundays. A few tourists but mainly local guests. The menu was impressive but we went for dishes we knew, I for Magret Canard and my wife for Cote Agneau with truffle butter, and a bottle of St.Vie wine. We went to l’Eole to meet some new locals from the nearby Daglan village. We felt very welcomed and were offered an aperitif which was very pleasant. The kids chose pizza which looked very tasty and they were very happy with their choice. Besides salads, some of us chose foie gras as starter (which was delicious) followed by duck confit, tagliatelle and entrecôte. We were all happy with our choices too. We had ice creams and chocolate fondant to conclude. Definitely recommended and you should reserve if it is a week-end as it was busy on Friday evening when we went.

Back again (after 4 years) this is a family favourite again accommodated 10 of us! The menu has a good mix of local specials as well as pizza. We tried the specials as well as pizza. Service was prompt and friendly. Booking recommended. Check opening times to avoid disappointment.
