We came upon Les Demoiselles Dupuy by chance, having left the Bouzigues restaurant "drag", where everything was full. The restaurant is just outside the village, and approached by a staircase towards the Étang de Thau, decorated in a very lurid pink. Don't be put off by the colour. The food was very tasty, and the service excellent. We had oysters (straight from the étang), moules gratinées, also local, an "assiette de pêcheur" and two glasses of a very acceptable Picpoul de Pinet. The bill came to €36.00.The gentleman who served us was from Paris, visiting his son, the owner, and helping out. He was helpful and charming and attentive without being intrusive. The eating area was in the open air, with a view out to the étang, but one which reminded me more of the cockle sheds at Leigh on Sea (apart from the sunshine and the heat!). This is a working fishery, and there was activity going on whilst we ate. If you want glamour, this may not be the most beautiful setting, but if you want good food at reasonable prices, and something slightly different, Les Demoiselles Dupuy has a lot going for it.

Nice location near the lake , friendly and efficient service and above all great food and particularly sea food . Once a week they have a show there , and it just happened I was there one of theve evenings . A lot of fun too which made up a bit over the overbooked and somewhat slow kitchen . In any case a place I would strongly recommend

The freshest oysters and most fantastic mussels I have ever had. Sat on long benches next to the Etang de Thau, warm freshly baked bread and wines from Cote Mas, lovely way to spend Sunday lunchtime.

We stumbled on this restaurant while looking at the oyster leases. The mussels cooked over a fire on the beach are to die for. Great oysters too and not expensive. Will definitely return ????
