Asian restaurants in Paris usually look the same. You usually get very (too?) good reception and a poor interior decoration, with a very similar food from one to the other. This one though is quite different. In here you are warmly welcomed by the owner, who is married to a Vietnamese woman, he takes time to explain the origin of all dishes if you ask for it and remains very discrete if you don't.The decoration is just what you expect from a restaurant for this kind of price, and I'd even say that the food is under estimated as you end up with a very light bill in the end. We went there with my wife and my son, and we will for sure return as we live close by.
First the boss is a love, with little care for her guests, then the kitchen is of an incredible finesse, everything is homemade, it is the lady who concocts the dishes, all delicious. Don't deprive yourself of dessert: apple gyozas are a pure delight! It is a quiet and simple restaurant, where you can chat quietly, without being overwhelmed by music. the setting is warm and tastefully decorated. Then what does not ruin anything: prices are very reasonable. The pichet of merlot is delicious. This is all good! a beautiful address where I return each time with the same pleasure, a small haven of peace and gentleness located all against the Jordanian church.
very exceptionally, the refined decor of the place holds all its promises: the reception is elegant and warm and the kitchen, if yes, a real happiness to the tasting. You're probably saying there's a wolf somewhere, that the check must blow you a bamboo blow out? No!!! really, the note is no longer light, rarely seen for me. and filled with luck for me, I am a close neighbour of the flowers of thought, so I do not deprive myself of going as often as I want!
in the flowers of thought we find typical Chinese dishes but without too much exoticism so it is well suited to the tastes of French (bo bun, noodles, lemon chicken etc). all dishes are of exceptional quality, even gyozas are made home and coconut beads - by a local craftsman. the restaurant is decorated with love with Chinese art pieces and Chinese furniture of XVIII-XIX century. Not the usual Chinese food from the fridge to the micro-wave! There, gyozas are homemade, dim-sum are fresh. No music, large tables, you can even speak to your friends without yelling. Not an extensively large choice but a realistic list of courses, all prepared at the right moment you order. Really one of the nicest place to get a real dinner in the Jourdain Village.
This small neighborhood restaurant is a real treat. menu at 12€50 hearty and refined. It's all done home. apple gyozas are delicious. The kitchen is in the hands of the woman and the husband is at the service and explanations of the map. Everything is perfect. even the setting is pleasant and warm. it is an atypical Chinese restaurant held by a couple, he, French, Chinese who loves contact with customers. the card is less provided than in the Chinese tradis, but the dishes are excellent. the decor is original, with ancient Chinese furniture. We feel at home. and above all, prices are unbeatable.
